How to do you "level-up" in this forum like distiguished contributer or valued member or ultimately expert elite?
Mostly it's post count for the default title changes....
The Expert Elite is not an automatic upgrade though. Those are the super helpful forum gurus.
You can only get a few steps up with sheer post count. Receiving Kudos and authoring Solutions are requirements for leveling up.
In this group - you don't. Notice no "Accept as Solution" or Kudos.
In the product forums see the post by CADastrophe. Help others as you are able.

Post count is not the only factor. Solutions, Kudos, general knowledge and a willingness to help over time are all factored in.

😉 Well, I obviously haven't spent enough time around here recently (sorry, I still miss NNTP access ).

Dating yourself there 😉
I have noticed some improvements in the member categories since last year. It used to be that someone who posted once or twice was a "contributor" even though they might have just been posting questions and responding to other's solutions. Now it seems that its "new member", "member", and "active member" which are much better categories without assiging roles.
What is odd is that the forum labels move with us from group to group. While I might be an expert in AutoCAD, I'm not in Revit MEP. Yet the labels travel from forum to forum.
Think about the label of being "Expert Elite" in the breakroom. Wow, he's really expert in taking breaks. 🙂 I'm a "Distinguished Mentor" at "break room" and "Revit MEP" as well as "AutoCAD."

I won't say there isn't some truth in that. A lot of coffee gets drunk waiting to see if the software is going to recover or crash.

Being a Distinguished Mentor, should mean we get the coffee/tea made for us. It never happens though

😉 I'm the only one who'll have me.

That's not all it's cracked up to be, honestly... Don't get me wrong, it's nice not having to put on the coffee five times a day here at the office, but, it's not as satisfying when the coffee comes out looking like tea. ~sighs dejectedly~ #firstworldproblems
Oh, and speaking of left-handed people... we used to be the majority in the office (now we're 50/50 I think), and the joke from the right-handed people was that we all suffered from the same disability of being lefties. Well, our boss was out in San Francisco last week and took some time out for shopping and ran across the lefty store there. Nice fella, he brought back gifts for all of us 'disabled' people. I got a deck of left-handed playing cards, I've got to make the rounds and see what the others got.
My mum bought me some left handed scissors, a left handed wallet and a left handed ruler. Can't remember where I put the ruler, but the scissors and wallet are very handy.

This very forum harkens back to the old NNTP days when there was a "Take 5" section. In fact even in its' current form you can see some remnants of that in the web address. http: //forums.autodesk.com/t5...
Perhaps I'm msising something, but, the design of a left-handed wallet escapes me...
~googling~ Hmm, okay, I guess I understand...
Mine is a fairly simple one, so it would be the same turned either way.
Wait, now that I'm looking, I don't recall if I've got the Sport, or the International. ~shrugs~ Whichever, they're quite similar.
Left handed playing cards and pencil sharpeners.
Why the Gov'ment does not grant us special status and rights is beyond me.
Having spent years suffering under the boot of the right handed oligarchy.
There was a time in the recent past where it was considered obscene to be left handed.
I think we should be compensated for the lack of understanding of our forefathers.
!
At least you all on the other side of the pond get to drive on the correct side of the road.

Special rights? You're dreaming! Didn't you know that the left-handed population does not have any rights?
