Most people using Softimage for years will have context dependant keyboard shortcuts.

Finding it limiting in Maya. . . .

ie. in Softimage 

i in Explorer - images filter

i in Animation editor - insert key

i in views, insert edge

i in Texture view - etc.

i in Fcurve editor - insert key...

and so on.....

Thanks for the input. Without making any promises, I can say that this is definitely something the team is discussing.

Thanks - Also another suggestion, I have just coded a script to make a big red button and turn the film gate red as the Auto Animate button is way too subtle to be noticed. (Only using Maya a couple of weeks so apologies if I have missed something obvious.)

The biggest general tool that I am missing is the multifunctional explorer. Everything else is just adapting I think.
