Face Robot doesn't work like that. It won't capture video footage from a camera and retarget that. You need to capture data first and then you might be able to use Face Robot to retarget that.

Some thing like the Brekel - http://www.brekel.com/?page_id=848 might work, but its only in its early stages and personally I haven't tried it with Face Robot yet.

Yes, SI was built from the get go to work with 3D mocap.
However, you do also have the liberty to move and key the controllers on the face just as any other object.
So this doesn't mean that you're limited to 3D mocap.
You can manually key and also 2D mocap can always be applied, the 2D result won't be normalized however, so keep it steady.

1 bring footage to a tracking software, SI compositor can also be used
2 import the data as nulls
3 connect them to the FR controllers 'constraint compensation' will be helpful here.
Then edit the imported null's curves to perfect.

when i export cleaned facial mocap data from mobu as c3d and then import intofacerobot it breaks as soon as 'enable rotations'.

Even if i imoport the RangeOfMotion test into mobu and export motion file it does the same.

Is there an option in motionbuilder when saving the c3d data that i am missing, surely it should just work.
