Stl. import from thingiverse

Hello experts,

I am in need of the ability to download items from grabcad or thingiverse , and have them come into fusion360 in the correct scale. So far stl file seem to come in very large. An ipohone case was over 1000mm. How can i accuretly have the files come in in the correct size?

STL files are "unit-less" files.  That is, the file cannot be saved with any units.  The vertices that make up the positions of all the facets are defined as absolute points in space.  The only way to get those points in space to be in the same location is to know what units were used when the STL file was created.  If you know the units of the STL you recieved then we provide you a way to set the type of units when you "Insert Mesh".  The "Insert Mesh" command is available in the Sculpt or Base Feature Modify dropdown.  When you access the STL file from the local disc you can set the units to the units used when the file was created.  If you don't know the units from the application that created the STL then scaling it is the only option.  You can use the Measurement command to measure between points on the mesh to get a rough indication of the current size.

good workaround until the bug fix arrives. or, scale everything incoming 0.1 times.
