sketching question on practice proj

I started to get back into fusion 360 again with a practice project. I am trying to model the clip in the attached pic. The main shapes of the object was easy to create, but now I have run into a big wall when trying to sketch the teeth shapes for this object. I have tried different ways to get at this to no avail. My main question is how do I change the default angle of a sketch.

Hope someone can help

You may utilize sketch constraints to create parallel and equal constraints between lines that should have that relationship. You may also use Sketch Dimensions to define the size or position of sketch entities.  Using sketch constraints and dimensions, it should be possible to create an interactive sketch that you can edit to tailor your needs. See the below video for reference.

You may also consider creating the sketch of a single tooth. Then use the with a Rectangular Pattern tool and the Project Geometry command. In the Rectangular Pattern tool, you can select a "projected" line as the direction. You could pattern either sketch figures or 3D geometry. In the below video, I pattern a body.

Hope these suggestions help. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Thanks for the video! I will review a few times and try to use some of the things you showed and let you know how it turns

I must say that working with the sketch tools are very frustrating. I totally understand your video and i am trying to follow it, but I am not getting the program to respond.

1. it seems like you have more constraints than me. I made each side of the triangle equal to each other. What other constraints did you use.

2. I am getting different responses after I try the same movement. When I try to move the back end of the group of triangles into position.

3. the dimention tool keeps telling me that the sketch geometry are over constrained.

4. how do you get the points to highlight so easily in your video. I have to move my mouse around like a maniac to find the point on the end of lines.

I know that i have to get use to the program, but this is only a very simple operation.

thanks for your help in advance.

To answer your questions with regards to the first suggestion:

1. I have used coincident, parallel and equal constraints to drive the behavior in the video.

2. You may try using a sketch dimension or a coincident constraint to drive the position of the sketch figures in place of manually dragging with the cursor.

3. See the below video.

4. The zoom level and speed with which you move your mouse can make a big difference in the ability to select sketch entities. Try selecting the line end points at different zoom levels and let me know if it makes a difference. You may also want to look at using the escape key (ESC) on your keyboard to cancel any active commands when trying to select the endpoints.

Below is video I made that demos the creation of this sketch. I hope you find it helpful.
