Save to STEP not working

I have a model which was original created in 123d Design.

I extracted the .sat file from the .123dx file and I was able to open this in Fusion 360.

When I try to export the model to .stp file no file is saved. I followed these steps:

  1. Upload .SAT file
  2. Open .SAT file in Fusion 360
  3. Click File -> Export
  4. Change file type to STEP file

Result: No file is saved.

Expected: A STEP file saved

I've also tried opening the .sat file in AutoCAD and saving it out as a .dwg and then exporting it from Fusion 360. Same result.

Any help would be excellent. Thanks!

This is the forum page for Inventor Fusion, which was the predecessor for Fusion 360. I'll move this post to the Fusion 360 board.

Have you tried both export options, via the file menu in Fusion 360 and in the A360 dashboard?

See the below tip for more info.

I hope that helps, let me know if you are still having problems exporting a STEP file.

Thanks,

Huum, that's strange. I was able to export to STEP and import it back properly. Something going on...

Can you provide your parts for me to try out, if possible?

(Nathan's link above has details on how to share the model)

Thanks,
