Hi,
I'm trying to rebuild a corrupted Inventor Fusion project in Fusion 360.
Attempt #1:
I've successfully "imported" the .f3d file, but any attempt to modify portions of it results in Fusion locking up and quiting (OS X 10.9.4). I'm not surprised and didn't expect much success here.
Link to imported file: Solenoid_Motor_BAD
Atempt #2:
I've attempted to copy/paste as new various components into a new design/file. However, each component is "invisible". Properties indicates there is no mass or anything really there.
New project w/copy/pasted components
Attempt #3:
I have exported the project as various file types, hoping some portion would be salvageable. I was also hoping I could see from the file contents something amiss and modify/remove it, but no dice.
Does anyone have any suggestions regarding what options are available to me, besides rebuilding from scratch?
Just being able to view the project would be an aid to rebuilding.
kind regards,
MAJ
One last ditch effort you can try...
Copy the f3d file.
Change it's extension to .zip
Extract the zip rchive to get into the design database
Browse for the brep blob directory.
The solid model data is stored here.
You can import these files to get the individual solids back.
If you direct message me a link to the f3d file or post the file here we can look at it and see if we can recover it completely.
Oh, man. Thanks for that. That helps.
I see a lot of the components and they open okay
There are a lot of 205 byte files, too. 106 of them. I presume they may be the sketches, as they start with early prefixes.
And, there is one zero byte .sat file. Problem area?
I have all the links to the files, including the F3D file, linked above in my first post. For some reason, the links don't show up underlined or colored in the post.
Anyhow, I also have linked the original file below from Dropbox:
Thank you so much for looking into this. You guys are great.
And, thanks for supporting the Mac platform. I don't want to boot into Windows just to run a 3D CAD.
kind regards,
MAJ
Probably a bit too much to decipher, eh?
I have all the original pieces, I just didn't want to have to build it again. But, I will if I need to.
There was only one assembled part I could retrieve from the BlobParts folder. The rest were pieces I already have originals of.
I was hoping we could "simply" find and remove the culprit and I could just rebuild it. I hazard a guess the database isn't built that way - too many interdependancies, I suppose.
Ah. Links are colored, now.
best of wishes,
MAJ
