I have tried several projections, Cut. No luck
I managed to get my hex pattern proijected to the surface. Now I want to be able to cut extrude the hex pattern 0.5mm into the surface.
Can someone point me in the right direction>?

Yes but I'm not quote sure I am doing right.
Here is the file.
here is a workflow:
create your 2D sketch:
then, create a second sketch, and use Project to Surface to project the 2D sketch onto your solid:
next, use Split Faces, selecting the solid as the face to split and each polygon as the split tool:
and use Press/Pull to offset the split faces into the solid:
Hope this helps,
Jeff
I was able to do this on your model, but there was something a bit strange about it. Your sketch (Sketch3) did not behave correctly with Split Faces, I'm not quite sure why. I created a second sketch (Sketch4), and did the Project to Surface. I was able to to Split Faces (there is a limitation to what you can do in one Split Faces command, so I only did one row), and do Press/Pull to inset the faces:
Fusion really needs a proper Emboss tool to make this workflow easier, I believe. If there is not already an Idea Station item for that enhancement, feel free to add one.
I've attached my edited model, just FYI
Thanks for your post
Jeff
Thanks! That is exactly what I need.
I'll go check on a feature request.
