I created two bodies, a block and a cylinder and converted them into bodies.
Then I activated the block component, sketched a rectangle on one of its faces and and made a rectangular cut into it assuming that the cut would only affect the active component. That's not the case as the cut also affects the cylinder.
Hiding the cylinder did dnot help as expected. Isolating the Block also di dnot help aslo as expected.
So when one creates multiple components in a row, what's the best practice to do so ?

Thanks for your feedback
If you want to only cut the block component you can
1: Hide the Cylinder body/component or Isolate the block component
2: Make a rectangular sketch cut into block body
I can not reproduced your problem, when hiding the cylinder the cut also affects it

Not sure what I was doing last night. Hiding the other compoent or isolating the component to be edited works.
Thanks for the quick answer and sorry for the confusion.
