Thanks for the help but I'm not going to be able to do these things on this machine so I'm out of luck.
Appreciate your time on this.
I am sorry to hear that.
May I ask why you are unable to try the second option? OS X makes it straightforward to non-destructively re-partition portions of your disks. Is it an authority or policy problem? This sort of feedback may be helpful in prioritizing case-sensitive file system support for the future.
Thanks,
Steven
If anyone is still interested... You can also circumvent the case sesitive file system problem by creating a new case insensitive file system image with the disk utility application. This way you don't have to repartition your drive.
- First check the size of your ~/Library/Application Support/Autodesk folder.
- Create the file system image at least a few hundred megs larger. (Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility -> File -> New -> Empty Disk Image)
Make sure that the format is not case sensitive, and is read-write!
After creating the image, OS X should mount the file system. If not, double click the disk image in the folder where you created it.
- Copy the ~/Library/Application Support/Autodesk folder onto the image.
- Delete the original folder.
- Create the Autodesk symlink in ~/Library pointing at Autodesk folder on your disk image.
You should be ready use Fusion 360.
This works on my 2009 unibody macbook, running 10.9.4.
