Inspect measure issues

Hi

A few days into my 30 day trial. Windows 8.1 i5 CPU.

Having problems using 'Inspect' measure and 'Sketch' sketch dimensions which is mostly greyed out, all I get is a faint green arrow with no dimensions. I can sometimes get a dimension by a sequence multiple key presses which takes time. How do I get measure to activate, Is there a format for measure/edit that I am overlooking.

So far very impressed.

Is there a way to do screen prints rather than save as .png or .jpg

Steve

I would ask you to see if another windows user account on that machine in question, if possible the local admin account? I have not seen or heard others report this issue on Windows 8.1 but could you test this and report back. Can you add attachments for us to review?

Regards,

Don

This sounds like it may be a graphics related issue. There are some specific suggestions in the below thread about how to optimize performance/stability in Fusion in Windows.

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/general-fusion-360-questions/work-area-and-project-disappears/td-p/542...

I would be curious to know if the DPI setting on your machine are set to 100% or another value.

  1. Click the Start menu and type "display" in the search field or type it at the desktop.
  2. Click "Set custom text size (DPI)."
  3. Try setting the percentage to 100% in the drop-down menu or drag the ruler.
  4. Click OK.

You may also look at changing the Environment Colors, see below. It may make it easier for you to see the dimensions.

Another setting that may impact the ability to see dimensions clearly is the layout grid. Does it help if you disable this?

For the measure, you should be able to initialize the Measure tool command and then begin to select geometry in the workspace. Usually there is an in-canvas indicator as a green line (or multiple lines in some cases) that should indicate where the measurement is taking place.

From that screenshot you can see how easy the "Dark" Environment color can make it to see the measurement line.

I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Hi
Thanks for the quick response, my late reply is due to UK time zone.
I have found the solution, after much messing around I found the Origin
lamp turned off in the Browser tool bar.
I now have the drop down menu with all the dimensions displayed.
I did try sending a screen shot but as soon as I pressed save the relevant
info disappeared.

Thanks again

Steve
