How to get an open sketch line into a body?

I am familiar with created sketch profiles by creating closed shapes and then extruding those profiles into bodies.

What I'm trying to do now is take an open sketch line, give it some thickness (1.4mm), and then extrude the resulting profile into a body.

I can use an offset of 0.7mm on either side of the sketch line and then close the ends and make it work, but that doesn't seem right. I'm wondering if the next most efficient way to do it is to create a rectangle normal to the end of my line and sweep it. Thanks.

I'm trying to make one of these.

Here's the side sketch I have...

Nevermind. As is often the case, I found the answer shortly after posting. Thanks to @cekuhnen and his excellent video. In that video, he does essentially the same thing to create a plywood chair. The tool I was looking for was the Plane Along Path.
