How to approach this sketch?

Hey all,

So I am modeling this 6" chuck and putting in the cuts for the slide rails,

Is there a way to copy and rotate this cutout?

Or can I copy and rotate the sketch to do the next 2 cuts?

Hi,

Actually there is no need to copy-paste sketch and cut to get the output you are looking for.

You can simply go for "Circular Pattern" in model workspace, select the extrude feature from the timeline below (it will select all the extruded faces at one go which we want to pattern here), select number of pattern's and done. You can also give the angle value if you want some specific angle. Please refer images below where I have done it quickly.

I hope this will be helpful to you!

You can extrude a new body from the sketch (instead of directly doing a cut), then create a circular pattern of the body, and finally combine with the original body as a cut operation:

Thanks for the reply!

But I don't seem to have a working (Circular Pattern) feature in my version.

It is located under the SKETCH drop down, Circular Pattern is somewhat greyed out unlike the other options available.

I have done this forward and backwards and it does nothing.

Is this where I find it and use it?
