Hi,
when in sketch mode this highlightning of faces drives me crazy. Is there any way to come around this? Anything i can switch off to get rid of face highlighting and selection when i don't need it? I would expect this only to happen when in push/pull or similar functions.
Also the "virtual" lines that are created between those faces and are somhow low resultion completely disturb the sketching process. They're constantly in the way and i can't seem to do anything against them - well maybe i can but i don't know how 🙂
Again i've made a video to demonstrate http://screencast.com/t/MK7SSCFoooZz (please let me know if these videos are nonsense but i find it's often easier to show stuff in motion as only with screenshots or text only.
Hi Helmi74,
You can diasble highlighting faces if you disable the option 'Sketch Profiles' under 'Selection Filters' as shown in the attached image.
Hi,
regarding the other small lines beneath the actual line I don't have any solution.
They appear also on my sketches but only if I zoom very closely to the face / line.
May the autodesk team has a solution here?
For the rough lines, have you tried playing with the Display Settings at all? For example does enabling Anti-Aliasing Effects help? What happens when you use a different Visual Style (e.g. Shaded, Shaded with Visible Edges, or Wireframe)?
Thanks,
Hi,
I tested also further, AntiAliasing does not effect the appearance of the additional lines, as presented in the following video.
Those lines are only visible if you zoom very closely to small objects. The circles in the video have a diameter of 5 mm and 10 mm only.
Changing 'Selection dipslay type' under Preferences-->Graphics does also not really help. If it is set to normal then the outline appears more like a circle made out of line segments and not a smooth circle. Furtermore 'normal' makes the selction of face segments very slowly and lazy.
So the problem still exists even AntiAliasing is switched on or off.

The "faceting" is most likely intended to improve performance. Using higher quality graphics settings should reduce the effect. I noticed in that video that you were using Direct X 9 in the Driver drop down in the preferences. I was wondering if you have Direct X 11 available as an option?
Thanks,
