Drawing on a sculpt object

I want to use the sculpt environment, but I cannot figure out how to draw on the object. I want to create an object, then go back to the model environment and add a skepth to the sculpt object. I tried converting the object into a boundary representation but I still could not add a skepth to the object. Any help?

Hey there, I moved your post from the 2D documentation thread to the Fusion 360 modeling, sketching, and sculpting thread.
That video was made in an older version of Fusion 360 where you had to expliciting covert a sculpt body into a solid body. In today's version, it automatically happens when you select "Finish Form".
Once you have a solid body, you should be able to sketch on the origin planes. Make sure you have the light bulb on the origin on to see the planes.

You can also create construction planes to sketch on. Go to Construct > offset plane and then pick one of the origin planes to start and offset your new plane at a desired distance.

Does that help?

Thank you for your help. I looked into it further and I think that is the best option. I want to be able to draw directly on the body without having to create new planes.

You can only create 2D sketches on planar surfaces. The model shown in this thread has no planar surfaces, so you have to create 2D sketches on existing workplanes.

The 2D sketches can be offset from the existing workplanes.

Jon.
