Create body some specific offset from another

I'm used to using the tape measure tool in Sketchup to measure some distance from the end of a body and perhaps some other distance down and then starting the creation of a new body precisely at that point. Sketchup places a "guide" there for you that then acts as a snap point. Is there an equivalent in F360? It appears the measurement tool is for creating dimensions for existing bodies and doesn't fit this case.

If you convert your bodies into components, you can use Joints to control their position in relation to one another. I'm not sure if that would help, but thought I would mention it.

If you create a sketch, you can project 3D geometry into the 2D sketch plane. You can then start creates sketch entities and dimension them from your projected figures. Would that work?

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Thanks. Perhaps I'll request it as a feature. It's not essential, but very helpful. I saw in a training video later that I can create a sketch somewhere near another and then in addition to adding dimensions to the sketch, I can add dimensions between it and something else and then determine exactly how far away it should be. I'm still getting used to the workflow that a parametric modeling system introduces where I draw sketches first and then derive bodies.
