Crashing on exit

When closing Fusin 360, it locks up when telling it to exit even after saying not to upload data. It should not even ask you this question about being sure you want to exit cause uploads will stop; I would'nt have closed the program if I did not want it to shut down!

The warning servers a good purpose. It is there to provide an opportunity to decide whether or not a pending version is synced to the Dashboard (cloud). If you select no, the version will be stored in a local cache only, which may not be desirable. If the data is stored locally, you would need to log into that same machine to allow the sync to complete and gain access to the version.

When the application crashes, is a customer error report created? Are you submitting these to Autodesk? Are you populating the e-mail address field?

I queried our database for reports, but did not find any associated with your contact e-mail address.

Is it possible to re-submit these reports?

Also, what OS are you running on, Windows or Mac?

Thanks,

While I understand the need to keep the cloud updated, there is no feedback on what is being uploaded, or how long this is going to take. I don't normally work with the panel on the left open. When closing my work session I normally hit save on the current project and then close the program. Sometimes it hangs and sometimes it doesn't. When it hangs I have to kill it. There is no crash report that I know of. If there is, it is certainly not obvious.

I'm running WIN 8.1 via Bootcamp on a MBP

After you hit save, there is a text message in the top toolbar for the local save. The sync will then use another process in the background to upload the file to the cloud. You are correct that there is not currently much feedback on the sync process. The warning message when you try to close is the only indication that something is happening. Thank you in advance for any feedback you have on this process.

The sync process should be fairly quick, but the length of time will depend on the complexity and size of the design and the available connectivity/bandwidth. This might be a good suggestion in the Ideasation. Or you may want to add some kudos to the below existing ideas in the Ideastation. This will let the product management team that you would like an enhancement in this area.

How long are you letting the hang go on for before you use Task Manager to kill Fusion 360?

Thanks,

Maybe about twenty seconds?

I would be curious about two different approaches when you're shutting down.

One would be if you get the warning to leave Fusion 360 open for 60 seconds and then trying to shut down. The idea is to go ahead and let Fusion 360 sync the local version with the dashboard, before closing.

The other approach would be just to wait, longer than 20 seconds, to see if the application closes on its accord within a minute or two. I haven't heard of any issues with Windows users closing Fusion 360, but perhaps there is a larger issue at play here.

Thank you for any feedback you may have!

Kind Regards,
