Coil command revolutions parameter

Hello Fusion 360 Team

The Coil command seems not to accept revolutions smaller then 1, like 1/8 or 1/2 or so.

If you do fill in a value <1 the value in both the dialog box and the HUD turns red, but then you have to quit the command even if you change the revolutions value back to > 1,  the OK button does not become active again.

Probably I'am doing something wrong here.

Many thanks and kindest regards

Ludo

Thanks for reporting this. What you describe is a defect in the dialog box. I've sent this issue to development to fix in a future update.

Currently, you can achieve what you wish. You must use the Parameters dialog.

Open Parameters.

Adjust the revolutions to what ever you like.

While you are there, notice that you can create Favorite parameters, User paramters, or rename the modeling parameters you have already made. It's a great place to work more closely with parameters.

Sorry for the trouble and thanks again for pointing it out.

Sorry, I didn't see Phil's (much better, more thorough) reply.  Yes, he is correct, this is just a bug in the dialog.  We should be able to fix this relatively easily...

Yes, unfortunately, that is a current limitation of coil - it only will accept integers for the number of revolutions. To be honest, I can't think of a good reason why this is the case.

It will work to fill in a number >1, (at least it worked for me), as long as it is an integer.

I think that this could be changed. I'll look into it.

Thanks for bringing it up.

Just to close the loop here, (pardon the pun)... this issue has already been fixed and will be working well in the next release.

[internal note: issue is reported as FUS-15544]
