Bug with Press Pull on mirrored objects?

Steps to reproduce:

1)  Create a box.

2)  Mirror the box along one side.

3)  Shell the resulting box on the top.

4)  Use Press Pull on a side of the box perpendicular to the mirror plane from step 2 to pull the side out.

Notice that when pulling the side out, the inside of that side also moves in.  Now try this on a side adjacent to the one you just tried, and note that this double-pulling doesn't happen.

Sidenote not directly related: Mirroring seems to be kinda buggy overall - had numerous crashes when using mirrored sketches.

Thanks for bringing this up.  I can reproduce this.  When I get into the office I will check this on a newer build to see if the same thing happens and let you know the outcome.

Thanks,

Andy

Great, thanks!

I'm trying to imagine Microsoft or Apple actually responding to a bug
report saying they'll try to fix it (I can't). Really cool that you guys
look into these things.

Thanks,
Rob

That is a valid bug and is reproducible in the newest build.  The combination of feature mirror THEN split or shell next will produce the same behavior.  We have a defect (FUS-6259) to track the split issue but I suspect this is coming from the mirror.  I assigned defect FUS-8592 to track this issue as you reported it.

For now, if you use "extrude" instead of press/pull for features that are perpendicular to the mirror plane things will work as expected.

Good find and thanks for reporting it!

Andy
