Today I went into Animate (why is it called Animation? everything else is a verb, except for CAM... Computer aided machine! No idea, I'm rambling) and the appearances were wrong on many items. Without testing, I would guess that if you add appearances in Render they match in Model but not in Animate
Luke
I skimmed this text from the Animation deep dive blog post:
The Appearance command allows you to edit/change the materials applied to your model, in the same way you would in any other workspace with the exception that Appearances operate as an override in the Animation workspace, and can be toggled on/off to always give the ability to revert back to the material specified in the Render or Model workspaces. This is particularly helpful when there is a need to show different color options or configurations of a model.
I hope that helps clarify, what's going on.
Thanks,
Thanks for the info!
So it would seem that whatever you apply in Model will end up in Animate or Render, but in those two sections whatever you apply is an override specific to that section.
Is that accurate?
Only in the animate workspace can you override appearance settings. In the Render workspace, I don't believe that is true. Changes made to appearance in the Render workspace will also be reflected in the Model work space.
Thanks,
