Hi,
Noarmaly we need to take lot of time to arrange meshing to improve Aspect Ratio, Mesh Matching & Reciprocal mesh match...
I was told there is software could help to proper arrange the meshing before import to Moldflow and it could help to save lot of time.
Please could you advice which software is recommend and prons/cons.

Ncu.
Hi,
u can use Hypermesh but according to me, if the CAD geometry is designed well, the meshing tools and to repair it into Moldflow are enough and is not justified the purchase of another software only to mesh.

1.0 I was told Simlab and Dr CAD could help to repair meshing but no luck to try it yet.
2.0 Please could you explain more detail for "designed well"? I know some CAD software could check the geometry before export and it might help.

Ncu.
Hi Ncu,
As was mentioned, other programs such as Hypermesh can generate mesh files usable within Moldflow. His other comments though center on the types of CAD representations you are importing into Moldflow.
If you're using neutral files, such as .stl or .igs files, you can diminish the overall quality of the parts representation based on how that file is generated. Moldflow only sees what you import, so if that file is not good, it will be difficult to generate a quality mesh.
If you are able to bring in higher quality parts, such as native CAD files (with the use of Design Link), you'll notice the mesh generated is significantly better. It requires less manual work to address problems as well.
In short, the quality of the mesh is dependant upon the quality of the imported file. Improving the quality of that file makes it much easier to get a part meshed with higher quality.

Hi Ncu,
adding to this topic Hypermesh and Ansa are my favourites in generating and meshing the midplane geometry. You are able even to export the mesh in UDM-format. Problem is: both tools are quite expensive!

All,
We have a good vendor in China to do midplane mesh well with competitive price. If you need, please send message to me.
