Moldflow aborts calculation on Linux

Hello Moldflow-Users,

I perform Moldflow calculations on a Linux system. In principle it works good. But sometimes the calculations stops without any error massage. And it is not a problem of the model. Because when I restart the same calculation on the same machine without any changes it is possible that moldflow complets the calculation without any problem.

I hope someone can give me a tip to solve this problem.

It is possible to restart an aborted calculation from the point of interruption. Or is it only possible to start the calculation from the beginning?

My system:

CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X5560 @2.80GHz

System: openSUSE 11.1 (x86_64)

KDE: 3.5.10 release 21.12.1

12GB RAM

Thank you in advance!

Hi Kaiserti,

To answer your question, you can't continue an analysis from an abort or crash point.  A solver run previously doesn't need to be rerun, ie no need to rerun Fill+Pack if Warp crashes, but the solver that crashes does need rerun from the start.

Also keep in mind we no longer support SUSE Linux operating systems.  The concern here would be that due to no longer supporting an operating system, we don't develop or test on that OS anymore.  This can cause unexpected occurrences in analyses, where it has times in which it runs successfully and sometimes it has issues.  That's the nature of running on a system that was not tested.

I have similar problems on different windows systems. Never found any hints what happened. Mostly everything works fine! Maybe some networking issue or whatever...
