Mesh import in .fem format to Insight

Hello guys,

I need help, im trying to import a mesh from NX in .fem format but the software gives me the next message:

"Input File appears to be binary, expecting ASCII file for this format"

I hope you can help me guys, im using Autodesk Moldflow Insight 2013.

Regards!

The .fem file supported by Insight is the text-based, finite-element mesh format for the old C-MOLD product. Insight cannot import .fem files from NX. You would have to use a different mesh format to import.

PS. This forum is for Adviser and not for Insight. Please raise Insight-related questions in the Insight forum.

I've got the same problem, here's how I solve it:

-go to simulation navigator (first form), right click on the FEM file icon of your project (should be the first one) and choose 'edit'; then change the ambient solutor in 'IDEAS UNV'.

-Now you should export simulation file (saved as '.unv')

-In MF you can import directly the .unv file.

It worked for me with 3d mesh, don't know 2d or midplane.

Best regards at all..
