Injection cones display HUGE !!!

Why does the injection cone display huge on some models?

Is there a way to resize the injection cone?

I've found that in the past if I have a node, or geometry, or LCS far away from my model.  The software then thinks the part is really big and puts in an injection cone that is a % of the size of the model.

I could not find anything. I am going to check, I think the original Unigraphics CAD has the defining axis in a location away from the model?

 

But I thought there was a way to change the way the cone displays (similar to how you can change the size of anchor point displays)???

 

If not, maybe this would be something Autodesk should look to add/revise.

This trouble happens when you import CAD models such as Step, Catia, and so Unigraphics.

The original location of the axis is kept.

You get huge injection cones is your mesh is far from this coordinate system.

There is nothing to do to reduce their displaying.

Yep. that is it. Importing CAD directly. If I move the axis or translate through Inventor, the injection cone is sized correctly.

       Hi

 

Here it is:  After meshing, delete any reference to the the model you imported,  named "CAD Body" or "IGES surfaces" or ... in the layer panel.

 

Huge injection cones or huge LCS come back to normal size.

Hello,

 

Understood your problem, One easy way u can try is purge the nodes & clean your layers by keeping only three layers (Trias,Nodes & Injection Cone).

Delete all other layers then you check your injection cone will be in a normal size..

 

Hope this will work out .. jus try & let me know if u get succeeded... it worked out for me many times. 🙂
