How to renumber the element and node number in Synergy 2013

Does anyone know how to renumber the element and node number in Synergy 2013 ?

Up to Synergy 2012, "Global Merge" function did it but it seems that in Synergy 2013 only the node number can be done.

I want to know why the specification was changed in Synergy 2013, or does anyone know the another solution?

In 2013, you can do a global merge, and set a negative number. This will do only a renumbering of nodes and elements, and not try to merge anything. This a new feature.

I tested on a simple midplane model, and it renumbered nodes and elements.

Hi, yannick-san

Thank you for the information.

According to the above information I tried it with mid, dd, 3d respectively but all did not work for element numbers.

I used Synergy 2013 FCS. Which version of Synergy have you tried?  "SP1"?

I used SP1 but as far as I know, we didn't made any changes there.

I created a simple midplane plate in synergy, meshed it, remove elements T1 to T3, used the global merge with a negative value in the merge tolerance field, and checked if I can find elements T1, T2 T3.

If you still have issues, please raise it through support.

Hi, Yannick-san

Thank you for your quick response and information of process.

In accordance with your process, I could renumber the element number, too.

Thank you.

But it seems that we need to delete any element to do it.

Before Synergy 2012, deleting any element was NOT needed.

Without deleting element, is there any other way to renumber the element number?

If not, we hope to fix in the next version up.

Hi,

I was misunderstanding.

By global merging with negative value, I could renumber it.

Thanks.
