How to increase discretization of pressure (XY) plots

Hi people,

 

I am currently trying to find a way to increase the number of points in the pressure (XY) plots. Here is an example:

 

 

In the left picture you can see a "pressure at injection location" plot showing a whole lot of single points (about 100 points or something - good discretization), whereas the right picture shows a "pressure (XY)" plot with only a small number of points (8 points - inaccurate discretization).

 

Does anyone know how to increase discretization in the "pressure (XY)" plots to get a more accurate result?

Hi,
it seems to me as you are running a 3D mesh type study.
The default intermediate results interval for 3D is:
5 in filling phase
5 in packing phase
3 in cooling phase
Writing at constant intervals.

This can be changed to maximum 50.
Note: Increasing the value will increase the number of intermediate results,
but will also increase the disk space requirements for the analysis.

 

The intervals can also be set by "Write at specific times".

 

You can change this for current study by:
Process settings
Advanced options...
Solver parameters: Edit...

tab Fill+Pack analysis
Intermediate results : Edit intervals...


You can also set this in defaults database to make it permanent for new studies:
Tools > Databases > Edit Default properties
Properties: Parameters
Select > Thermoplastics injection molding solver parameters defaults (3D), and Edit...
tab Fill+Pack analysis
Intermediate results : Edit intervals...
