Hello,
During the Moldflow study, we have some critical dimensions (X / Y component), that are caused by Differential Shrinkage.
If we can advise, our client / toolmaker, about this, and give them a value, they could correct the part or the tool.
My questions are:
1-It's possible to calculate the shrinkage, that the tool maker, should give while make the tool ?
2-How i can do that ?
Thanks,
Regards,
João Esteves

Hi,
there is a possibility to do a Shrink analysis in Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Insight Premium or Ultimate.
(See http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/compare/index?siteID=123112&id=14920771 for features)
Shrink analysis enables you to determine an appropriate shrinkage allowance to use to cut the mold taking into account the shrinkage characteristics of the material being used to mold the part and the molding conditions.
Please, see:
http://wikihelp.autodesk.com/Simulation_Moldflow/enu/2013/Help/2.0Insight/2891-Analysis2891/3434-Shr...
Shrink analysis is available for any material in the Materials Database that has been shrinkage characterized, and for studies of Midplane and Dual Domain mesh types.
