Flow rate convert

Hi Mf expert team,

Please help me resolve the problem as below,

Q1: Aalysis log only indicates an area of flow rate in the geometry, If max. flow rate is 9.55 cm3/s, how do i convert this values to unit (mm/s). The purpose of convertion is apply on mouding process.  let say machine screw diameter is 32mm.

Q2: Flow rate in single cavity is 9.55 cm3/s,  how do i calculate if cavititation increased to 48 cavities.

Q3: With the attached analysis log, how do I choose the best point of flow rate to make the convertion.

Thanks,

Lim

1. Regarding convertion flow rate in volume vs screw speed .

Screw c/s area * screw travel per second = flow rate

2.  If analysis run with with occurance number for 48cavitiies .. flow rate should same either one cavity  or multiple cavity

3. average out the flow rate and take nearest round figure. .i.e 9.5 or 10

Hello Omnis51,

Q1.

Dia 32mm Screw

Area = (32/2)^2  * Pie = 804.25 mm^2

So for flow rate of 9.55 cm^3/s = 9550 mm^3/s

So screw speed would be 9550/804.25 = 11.87 mm/s  assuming no compressbilty effects

Q2.

48 cavities assuming no runner system attached = 11.87 mm/s x 48 = 569 mm/s
