conformal cooling

hi everybody,
i would like to know if anybody has tried to model a conformal cooling channel and do cooling analysis,If so kindly answer my queries.

1. how efficient was the cooling?
2. how do u model the cooling channel?
3. if you have any pictures kindly upload?

I have done a few conformal cooling studies.

1. The cooling efficiency is dependent of the part geometry. Not all part designs can benefit from conformal cooling. Having said this, under the correct circumstances conformal cooling is very effective. When i compare the part and mold temperature plots for conventional and conformal cooling i see more uniformity in the temperature distribution.

2. I model the cooling channel using beam elements with mostly standard beam c/s shapes. I hope newer versions of Moldflow improve the conformal cooling modeling and analysis capability (perhaps tetras with 3D cooling element property)
