Dear Moldflow users,
I have a speaker grill part with the part dimension 155x115mm. Thickness in the through hole area is 1.5mm and blind holes area is 2 mm with the blind hole depth of 1 mm.
I have meshed it with dual domain and corrected the aspect ratio till 10. I converted this mesh to 3D with the following settings.
I. General Tab:
1. Global edge length: same as Dual domain size of 3 mm
2. Merge tolerance: 0.01mm
3. Match mesh: unchecked
II. Tetra Tab
1. 3D mesher: Advancing Front
2. Minimum element number through thickness: 6
3. Maximum allowed edge length through thickness: 3.6
After generation of 3D mesh, checked mesh diagonistic,
I got very high max aspect ratio value: 1755.9
and in the fill analyis log lot of warnings, I have attached a log file for your reference in the post
I have tried many option. but nothing works
Why is this happening? Does anyone experience like this? I think it will going to be big impact on the analysis results.
Please help me to solve this.
as not having access to the study for troubleshooting it is diffcult to say why this happens.
Just some comments.
The Help Explanation of this warning:
The input study file for this analysis contains two nodes which have identical coordinates.
A coincident node may indicate a problem in the mesh (for example two mesh regions which are not actually connected)
which will affect the solution.
The Help Resolution
Examine the two nodes in the GUI.
Use Modeling > Query Entities to locate the nodes.
Use Mesh > Mesh Tools > Nodal Tools > Merge Nodes to merge any unwanted nodes.
Now, this can be quite difficult with a tetra mesh.
But if nodes is same area it might give an understanding of why they are created.
You can also try Global Merge, with a small tolerance:
tab Mesh > Global Merge
Default tolerance: 0.1mm, change to something like 0.00001mm
After the merge, You can use the Mesh Wizard to check the 3D mesh quality
tab Mesh > Mesh Wizard
You can find and isolate the high aspect ratio elements, and maybe get an understanding why the are created.
