Connecting several simulations sequentially - Data exchange between simulations

I would like to spread the idea of a sequentially connected simulations.

Then results from one simulation could be used as input for the next one. So there would be a kind of data exchange between several simulations.

  • So one could especially use the results of an overmolding simulation for the next overmolding simulation.
  • Do more than two shot sequential overmolding.
  • Several inserts with data from previous "fill + pack + warp" simulations could be combined in a following overmolding simulation.
  • Even different processes could be combined sequentially.

In the end multiple combinations of simulations would be possible, as there are a lot of processing varieties out there.

Has anyone further ideas?

We actually have a script that does this for the Temperature result. This has been made available to a few customers for testing.

Regardless of the script, this is something we are actively discussing. Your list of arguments is nearly a full overlap with mine. We are also seeing more variations unusual variations of the standard molding process so we are accutely aware of the reasons for the request.
