Moldflow Adviser Connect Failed

I recently installed Moldflow Adviser 2014 Service Pack 2 and get a "Current Jobs [Connect Failed]" error in the Job Manager when I start an analysis.  The job shows up as "scheduled" but never runs.

I am running everything on my local machine. I pull the license off a network.  I do have a service running called amajm2014 on my machine.  I do not have administrative rights so I want to try to get a fix specific to moldflow advisor before I call to have them do a fix.

This describes a fix to a similar problem, but I am not using a network drive and this fix is primarily for moldflow insight.

it's basically the same problem as this person is getting in the 2010 version:

Hi,

regarding Moldflow Adviser, Job Manager - Connection failed.

At 2014: Troubleshooting Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Job Manager Connectivity

the last line says: "As there is only one machine in question for Adviser, simply add the necessary ports/applications and then reboot your system."

Open firewall ports.
If your machine's local firewall is active, you need to open these ports for connections to succeed.
The Job Manager listens on the following ports:
TCP port 20327
UDP port 2082

You can also add this to firewall exceptions:
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Simulation Moldflow Adviser 2014\bin\amajm.exe

The Job Manager is running on localhost.

Check that it can be pinged and resolved.

The hosts-file at C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts should have the line

127.0.0.1       localhost

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Berndt
