Model Preparation Error! [Help needed]

Hi!

I recently got my University to install Moldflow Adviser Ultimate to my work computer.

However when I try to run any analysis or do anything with the software a dialogue box pops up saying "Model Preparation Error! Check the summary for details".

First I tried to run tests with my own models and thought there could be errors in my model, then I moved to use tutorial .stl files provided by Autodesk. The same issue still occurs.

I am totally new to this software and thus I am pretty sure that this issue is due to my lack of knowledge. Any advice how to solve this thing?

Thank you in advance!

Hi,

this article is available from Autodesk Knowledge Network, http://knowledge.autodesk.com/ :

Error: "Model preparation failed!" in Simulation Moldflow Adviser

Hope this helps to resolve your issue.

Regards,

Berndt

Followed the instructions but now the program fails in the start-up screen sayind "airsyn.exe has stopped working"

I did not find MPA_USER from registry. The closest one and the one which I edited was MPA_USER_HOME entry. This may be the reason for this crash issue?

Hi,

can you change MPA_USER_HOME and MPA_TMP according to

Moldflow freezes at splash screen on start up

Have a look here too:

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/simulation-moldflow-adviser/autodesk-moldflow-adviser-hung-on-splash-s...

Change to point to local driver and direcory, that you have permissions to write to.

MPA_HOME should point to installation directory such as:

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Simulation Moldflow Adviser 2015\

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Berndt

Hi!

I did all the advices above but still the problem exists.

This issue probably have something to do with the directories. All the computer of our university are linked through network. However, I have some sort of administrator rights, so I can install files on local C drive. However even though I did this and changed all the registry entries to point to local hard drive the problem still exist.

I have linked a screen shot from the registry.

Hi,

can you first remove MPA_USER from regstry.

Try to run analysis in Adviser again.

If still an issue, I suggest a complete re-installation:

1) Do a complete unistall via:
Start > All Programs > Autodesk > Uninstall Tools

(Check Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Adviser 2015, and Unistall)

2) Reboot / restart computer

3) Install Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Adviser 2015,

Admin rights and point to folders on C-drive.

(This can due to your setup still be on network drives.)

Try to run analysis in Adviser again.

4) Check that registry variables point to local drive:
MPA_HOME
MPA_USER_HOME
MPA_TMP

Change where neccessary to point to a local folder on C-drive.

Try to run analysis in Adviser again.

Let me know of the progress.

Regards,

Berndt

Unfortunatelly this did not work. I believe that the issue is that this computer cannot be totally used locally. My profile as well as my admin profile for this computer is still connected via internet which may be the reason for this issue.

Hi,

thank you for the feedback.

Seems as you need to get assistance from the IT-department to setup your computer to be able to install and run the software properly.
