Hi, someone has experience using PTC CAD files with Autodesk moldflow Adviser?
compatibility, quality of imported files, quality of the mesh generated, etc..
Hi Fabio,
I have experience importing CAD models from ProEngineer Wildfire 4.0 to AMA and AMI.
I use Autodesk CAD Doctor for ProEngineer to deal with all model issues and simplification.
Using CAD Doctor, compatibility is good and imported files are good. Regarding the quality of the mesh, AMA does the meshing for you based on the imported solid geometry, so as long as your CAD model is good, there is limited difference between using Inventor or ProEngineer.
Hope this helps. Feel free to send me a message if you have additional questions.

Hi Matt!
thanks a lot, just another question, do you know if there is a plug-in for AMA/Pro-E, like Inventor has?
Hi Fabio,
The plug-in you're looking for is Autodesk Moldflow Design Link for ProEngineer. It allows you to import native ProE files to AMA or CAD Dr. CAD Dr. can then be used to export .UDM files to AMA and AMI if there are model issues.
