Import Runner System from 3D CAD

I tried to search for some information but came up empty.  Basically I was wondering how to import a runner system creaded in 3D CAD to Moldflow Plastics Advisor 2014.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Brad

Hi,
in the cad system: extract center lines of runner system as lines/curves.
Trim lines in the break points, where runners changes direction.
Export the center lines of runner system as iges curves from the cad system.

Before starting import, the geometry setting should be Single cavity or Multi-cavity.

In Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Adviser, go to Geometry.
Click Feed System, down-arrow
Import Runners
File type : *.igs
and select the iges-file.
Then Apply

When importing an *.igs or *.iges file, the process will import each segment of the runner system as a centre (axis) line, and apply default runner system dimensions. You can the change and set appropriate runner properties.

Hope this helps.
Regards,
Berndt

I heard 3D runners can be directly designed in Moldex?  Is that true?
