Esport problem from Solidworks

Hello,

I have design a bufflor type cooling channel on Solidworks. But i am totally unable to transport it to moldflow. I tried all the optios as per the help info in moldflow. specially .adv or .udm or how to export an axis even. Any help please?

Hi,

the geometry for cooling circuits in Adviser are 1D-beam elements, generated from curves/lines.

The workflow is to create the center line/curves in cad system, and export in iges format, and then import to Adviser.

See Help:
Modeling > Cooling system > Import and export > Import cooling systems

When importing an *.igs or *.iges file, the process will import each segment of the cooling system as a centre or axis line, and apply default cooling channel dimensions.

Baffles and bubblers are converted into cooling channels, and these elements will need to either be defined or added manually after import.

To import
Click  Geometry tab > Cooling System panel > Import Channels.

So, in your CAD system:

1) Create center lines of cooling system, of baffles and circuits

2) Trim lines to have clear intersections where circuit turns / change direction.

3) Export center lines to iges file format

4) Import iges-file to to Adviser : Geometry tab > Cooling System panel > Import Channels.

Note: You need Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Adviser Ultimate to run Cooling

Hope this helps.
