When calculating natural frequencies of rotating impellers and shafts (fans and pumps for example) we have the ability to include load stiffening from centrifugal force etc. There is also a stiffening effect from gyroscopic forces that occurs due to rotation (forward whirl or backward whirl) that is not available in the software. Without this ability we are unable to predict the running natural frequencies accurately.
