Concrete Simulation features

I am posting this on behalf of a customer requesting some enhancement for Simulation Mechanical in regards to concrete analysis. I would like everyones feedback on how you would use Simulation Mechanical to analyze concrete behavior and failure. Here are some areas of interest. Feel free to post your own ideas.

  • Improved failure analysis for cracking of concrete
  • Consideration of non-zero self equilibriating stresses in unloaded concrete parts
  • Stresses from thermal loading and cool-down.

Let me know if you have any other ideas for expanded functionality.

I do simulation of oil tanks and they suffer settlement . Sometimes they are over a concrete platform or they have a concrete ring. In our case is very useful to simulate concrete cracking because we can simulate the behaviour of a tank that is suffering a critic settlement. We can simulate the stress of the metal sheet in the bottom.
