Mesh size control not working

while I try to enter the absolute element size , the system does not accept the input. Neither as a whole nor as a decimal number and also not as exponetially number. I tested the input with a dot and also with comma. The error still excists.

The message is: "Enter a number"

Anybody idea, how to handle this?

First of all, welcome to the Autodesk forum.

Could I ask what version, including the service pack of Simulation Mechanical you are using. 

For Simulation Mechanical 2017, the same issue was solved by updating it with SP1. Please refer to the blog post here for more details.
