Is MES the right simulation method?

Hello,

i would like to simulate the process of screwing in a cartouche in a device.

A resistance have to be overcome during the screwing process.

At last i have simulated a linear movement of a Clip with MES.

So my Question is can I use the MES for this Simulation or not?

Because in the Setup menu "Prescribed Displacement" is Rotation blocked and i don´t know why?

I am pleased about your suggestions and your help.

Best Regards,

Tony

Hello Tony,

Theoretically, this can be done using MES.

What is it that creates the resistance to screwing the device in?

If you want apply rotational prescribed displacements you cannot do it directly on brick elements since brick elements don't have rotational degrees of freedom.  You'd have to add beam elements and apply the prescribed displacements to the beams.

Hello,

thanks for your answer.

The resitance wich i mean is on the End of the outer Spiral.

There is a spherical elevation where the catouche should slide over.

I hope you can see it in the picture "Device".

To add beam elements is a good idea.

I´ll try it and hope to get a simulation results.
