Thermal expansion model

Hi,

Hope someone is willing to help me here - I am sure this is a very easy question!

I am playing with an evaluation version of Algor Simulation and am trying to do a thermal expansion analysis on a simple part.

I have set the model up by assigning a rigid surface boundary condition and part temperature of 30 degrees, with a stress free reference temperature of zero degrees in the element definition and a linear static stress analysis type.

This seems to match some webcast tutorial I found, but after running the simulation I get zeroes across all result tables. What am I doing wrong?

Brett,

You may need to define a non-zero multiplier for thermal loading from within the Analysis Parameter's "Multipliers" tab.

Thanks Pat,

That was the problem and it's working fine now.
