Sketch from Imported Wireframe

I am builring an axisymmetric model. I have an imported wireframe from CAD (iges). All of the curves are construction objects, and are in the YZ plane.

How can I make these existing curves into a sketch for 2-D meshing?

Hi Stevenaking,

When you are selecting the file to open, there is an "Option" button or something on the File> Open dialog. Click that, and the dialog that appears gives options to import the drawing to a plane or as 3D objects. Hopefully, that will be the difference.

Otherwise, you may be able to use the instructions in the paragraph "Convert from 3D objects to a sketch" on the page "Drawing Planes" in the help documentation.

This works. Thanks.
