Please go to the install catalogue of Algor Simulation 2010 and run "RegAll.bat", and try again after it is done.

If it is no use, please go to Control Panel and reinstall Algor Simulation.

Please try the following steps:
1. Make sure all the Algor applications are closed in your Task Manager (for
example, Algframe.exe, AlgGlob.exe, AlgAdlm.exe...)
2. Browser to your installation directory
3. Run "RegAll.bat"
4. Rerun Algor after it is finished

Hope it helps.

Hi Jacky,

Where can I find RegAll.bat and How can I run it?
Do you mean just click on RegAll.bat file found in 2010.00 folder?
Thanks

Amosman,

You can learn how to correct this error by reviewing the Autodesk Algor Simulation knowledge base. Access GOOGLE and type "Autodesk Algor Simulation", then choose the support link at the bottom of the page. Click on the link for the knowledge base and perform a search for "Side". The hyperlink is as follows (I don't know if it will appear when posted?):

Amosman,

When following the instructions, one is to open a command prompt. You may need to change the directory of the command prompt to the Algor installation directory. This can be done using the change directory "cd" command:

cd "C:\Program Files\ALGOR\2010.00"

Then choose the key on your keyboard (Where "C:\Program Files\ALGOR\2010.00" is the path to the Algor installation directory for version 2010 software).

One should then be able to run the regall.bat file from the command prompt successfully.

Pat,
Yes, I did.
But got that run time error, prompting:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

C:\WINDOWS\system32\regsvr32.exe
R6034
An application has made an attempt to load C runtime library incorectly.

Amosman,

This issue seems perfect for Autodesk Algor's technical support. One can log an issue to technical support by logging on to the Autodesk Subscription Center with your userid and password. Or, by sending an e-mail to: a e i n b o x @ a u t o d e s k . c o m and providing your company information.

Amosman,

This run time error is a known issue, please install a hotfix from http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=14143887&linkID=13806470, or install Algor Simulation 2010 SP1.

Hi Tim,

Thanks. I installed the hotfix, but can not open it, I got "Windows installer can not open file......."
Could I run the hotfix file using the "Command Prompt"?

Just to let you know, I have the student version, installed from autodesk mechanical engineering group.
It was installed under C:\Program Files\ALGOR

Note: I can not find Autodesk Algor Simulation when using Add/Remove programs, in the Control Panel.

Thanks

What is your operating sytem? 32-bit or 64-bit?

Basically student version has no too much difference with other commerical versions. I am just interested in why you have no Algor Simulation list on Add/Remove Programs... Note that the install/uninstall problem might occur if you have used Windows Install Clean Up Utility to clean Algor Simulation 2010.

If it does not work and cannot uninstall/re-install via control panel after running RegAll.bat, please call Autodesk Technical Support for help as Pat mentioned.

Tim

Tim,

My OS is 32 bit.
Yes, I did use Windows Install Cleanup Utilitity after having a problem anytime I started ALGOR.
Now, I am trying to run RegALL.bat, but I get a runtime error after few seconds.

Thanks...

Amosman,

Some registry keys for Autodesk products will be disabled by Windows Install Cleanup Utility (msicuu.exe), it will make you cannot install/uninstall this product anymore. So please stop using this tool to uninstall Autodesk products.

Looks like your Algor Simulation 2010 has been broken by this tools, you can try the attached MsiZap.exe, a command line utility of Windows SDK Components for Windows Installer Developers, and perform following steps:

1. Paste MsiZap.exe to your rootdirectory
2. Run > cmd, run the command line: C:\msizap.exe TW {9C323B87-596F-4D0A-B1F3-A8E126A75E02}
3. Delete all files on the install path directory of Algor Simulation 2010
4. Install Algor Simulation 2010 and hotfix again (Or you can install 2010 SP1 version from http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/index?siteID=123112&id=2334435&linkID=13806470)

Please let me know if it helps.

-Tim
