Separation of Bonded Parts

I have a rubber part that is bonded to a steel part. I want to model the separation of the two parts under laod. Does Autodesk SimMech have this capability?

What information about the bonding do I need in order to make this work?

You can use "MES  with Nonlinear Material Models" analysis type.

First, define surface between the two parts on the surfaces where seperation happens.

.

Second, define "Frictionless slide/no bounce", and check "No slide" option.

Third, well define the contact distance.  Once the distance exceeds the contact distance, seperation will happens.

Note that the mesh on the contact  surfaces had better very fine.  And define the surface on the stiffer part as the first contact surface in the contact pair.
