one more basic question about application of loads

I have a force vector.

say 100lbf in x dir , 200 in y dir and 300 in z dir and the resultant magnitude would be 374

in asim , while using force dialouge box, what numbers do we need to input?

in magnitude that would be 374

x=100

y=200

z=300

right?

or we need to enter x=100/374

y=200/374

z=300/374

?

thanks

I believe that how the X, Y, Z directions are entered do not matter for most loads. They just specify a direction and do not affect the magnitude of the load. (Gravity is one exception that comes to mind, but those are designation and multipliers.) In fact, if you apply a load and then edit the load, most (if not all) will have been converted to a unit direction vector.

The safe way to know for sure is to apply the load, do a check model ("Analysis > Analysis > Check Model), and inquire on the load in the Results environment ("Selection > Select > Loads and Constraints", "Results inquire > Inquire > Loads and Constraints").
