Non-linear Analysis Hyperelastic Material

Hi,

I am trying to perform some non-linear analysis on a chevron seal stack made from HNBR rubber.

I am currently trying the analysis with just one seal as shown in the attached figure.

The seal has a finer mesh than the two adapters either side of the seal.

The adapters have been enter as a linear material.

Modulus of Elasticity of 4540 N/mm^2

Poisson's Ratio 0.4

I have calculated the Neo-Hookean values of Shear modulus and Bulk modulus using the data provided by the manufacturer.

Shear Modulus of 6.0329N/mm^2

Bulk Modulus of 3016.45N/mm^2

The applied pressure is 14N/mm^2

I have being trying to perform MES analysis as there is large displacement of the seals when a load is applied so I didn't think a static stress would be suitable.  Would this be correct?

Could anyone advice how to set up the analysis as I am having trouble when I run the simulation.

Currently I have the model set to 1000 time steps across 1s.

I have used the brick element type and surface contacts between each component.

Any help would be appreciated.

Ryan
