I am new to Algor and to FEA programming in general. I am trying to Model the effects on a drive shaft on a screw conveyor, and I am having trouble with getting results that seem valid. I am attaching the Inventor File of the setup that I am analyzing (the Algor file was to big).
I need to show the drive shaft in three different conditions: 1. A an 850# load located 2 inches from the end of the shaft concentrated on the keyway in the -Y direction, a 1264.5# load dispursed across the last 11 inches of the shaft, and a 40661 LBS*IN moment at the same spot about the Z axis; 2. A 650# load located 2 inches from the end of the shaft concentrated on the keyway in the -Y direction, a 434# reciprocating load at the same spot in the +Y direction acting every 1/2 second, a 1264.5# load dispursed across the last 11 inches of the shaft, and a 40661 LBS*IN moment at the same spot about the Z axis; 3. A 40661 LBS*IN moment located 2 inches from the end of the shaft acting on the keyway and a 1264.5# load dispursed across the last 11 inches of the shaft.
What I am looking for is the stresses in the bolt holes at the end of the drive shaft.
