Modelling a fabric coating

Hello

I'm working on modelling some airfoils which are subject to torsion. At the moment I am working on models made of various foam densities. In practice the foils will be wrapped in nylon fabric sheath to prevent wear on the foam core.

It seems that I will need to model the sheath using membrane elements, is that correct?
When modelling a fabric like this with membrane elements, do I generate a cad model of the sheat at say 1mm thickness and import it with the model, or can I simply add membrane elements to my existing models?

Thanks for your help.
Shannon

What I did to model the fabric coating was select the faces I wished to coat, selected the line subentities, duplicated them and generated a new part as a thin composite. Seems to be working. In my case the fabric is glued, so the material properties of the fabric are modelled as those of the glue impregnated fabric composite.
