Long simulation time

Hello ,

I have this iphone cover wich I did a drop test on him for 2 seconds. The analysis took more then  10 HOURS!

Is this a reasonable runtime? I am working on workstation Dell M6300. I am attaching the part maybe someone can run the analysis at hus end and tell me how much time it takes.

Thanks,

Dan

The simulation time really depends on your model setting, such as mesh size, material model, time step size etc.

All FEA related information doesn't show in your ipt file. Maybe you can put your log file here, ds.alg.

I think your mesh look ok.

My suggestions are

1.) changing the integration order from 3 to 2 by element definition dialog.

2.) replacing impact plane with general surface contact.

3.) after the above change, if everything works, you can use large step size to save unnecessary calculation and output.
