Issue in Static stress analysis

I’m pretty new to Autodesk Simulation and FEA analyses.

Now I can create models and to do the analyses that I need. I'm a master degree student and  I'm doing some tests to machine tools structure types.

I started my studies with a large mesh but when I run analysis, the process stop in 10%.

Can I any one help me fix this problem.

Thanks,

Tolentino

Are you using "Static Stress with Nonlinear Material Models" analysis type?

One issue might be related to the job manager, which stuck.  For better investigation, please attach the log file.

Hi Shoubing,

thanks for reply.

I'm using in my analysis linear material models.

I didn't find any log file for this analysis in process.

One feature of my model is that it be constructed of steel plates. These plates are joined by welding.

In my analysis I used for contact between the plates "welded" option, however, most of the plates are in the model

are prepared as shown in the attached figure.

I doubt that this provision of the plate may be locking the analysis. Can I be sure?

thanks again

Let's do this.

First, open the model and click "Analysis" -> "Check Model", to see whether the model can be checked successfully.  If the "Check" process succeeds, then we can check whether there is the file (ds.ldd).  Open ds.ldd file to see whether there is any error or warning message. If there is no ds.ldd file, "Check" process fails, and the model must have some setup issue.

If the "Check" process succeeds, and there is ds.ldd file, and there is no any error or warning message in ds.ldd file.  So far so good.  Now let's run the model from command line with the command "srunx ds -run".  If the model can run in command line, then we can guess the "Job manager" results in your previous problem.

Hi Shoubing,

sorry for delay in my responding.

As you suggested I ran the "check model". In the file ds.Idd there is warning message, how you can see in the attached file.

Can this warning message (errors in the model) cause failures when I run the analysis?

thanks

It seems ok.  Did you run "srunx ds -run" in command line?

Hi Shoubing

Sorry, but I'm pretty new in SM, Can you explain me in more detail how I run the analysis by command line?

thanks again

The command "srunx ds -run" in command line doesn't work.

is there anything wrong?

Hello can you attach the simulation file?.

To create the file go to archive /create

If you can not ulpoad the file please use a ftp server and share the address .

In that way we can see the models in us computer to check your problem.

It seems that the path cannot be found.  We can use the full path.

Please replace

      srunx ds -run

by

     "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Simulation 2015"\srunx ds -run

Hello Wilmer

thanks for your reply.

I attached the simulation file as you suggested.

Besides the problem mentioned in the post, I also have difficulties in mesh reffinement for my model has thin steel plates. What is the best element for the part of this structure?

Hi Shoubing

Thanks for your help

I used the full path (c:\............\srunx ds -run) but I have the same problem, in other words, the path cannot be found again.

I attached the link for .ach file in other post.

thanks again

Hi tolentino,

I just ran your model on my machine and it works fine.  Now I am wondering which version are you used?
